Why Training for Lead
  • Lead is toxic and is a hazardous waste
  • OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health
    Association) lead standard requires it
  • Employer is responsible for compliance with the
    standard
  • Employees are responsible to assist in complying
    with the standard
  • Provide a safe and healthy work environment for
    ALL employees

What Is Required
  • Indoor Air Testing (completed by insurance
    company)
  • Personal Exposure Limit (PEL) - We are below
    limit
  • (b) Definitions.Action level means employee
    exposure, without regard to the use of
    respirators, to an airborne concentration of lead
    of 30 micrograms per cubic meter of air (30
    µg/m3) averaged over an 8-hour period. Our
    measurement was undetectable

How Can Lead Enter the Body
