Why Training for Lead

What Is Required

• Indoor Air Testing (completed by insurance
  company)
• Personal Exposure Limit (PEL) - We are below
  limit
• (b) Definitions.Action level means employee
  exposure, without regard to the use of
  respirators, to an airborne concentration of lead
  of 30 micrograms per cubic meter of air (30
  µg/m3) averaged over an 8-hour period. Our
  measurement was undetectable

How Can Lead Enter the Body

• Ingestion
• Swallowed by handling food, cigarettes, chewing
  tobacco, or make up without washing
• Lead found in drinking water from solder in
  pipes or lead pipes
• Glazed porcelain, ceramic lead glazed, or
  handmade pottery can release large amounts of
  lead into foods or liquid
• Closing lead fishing sinkers with your teeth
• Not wearing a mask during the remodeling or
  renovating of lead based painted furniture or
  homes
• Lead containing solder on some food cans may
  contaminate foods
• Drinking fountains in public places may have
  lead pipes or solder in them
