    of what is media. You will be brainstorming.

    explain the purpose of the different types of
    media. You must give examples. (e.g., Music
    Videos To promote a musician. For example,
    Rihanna, etc.)
  • Level 4- Your groups will be able to identify and
    explain in detail the purposes of the different
    types of media your group will be able to come
    up with a definition of media studies. (Media
    studies is...)

    entertainment, for information, to be able to
    relate to it.)

  • Two definitions
  • Media Studies is the study of the mass
    media/popular culture e.g. magazines T.V film
    radio comics popular music websites computer
    games
  • Mass media The methods of communication used to
    reach large numbers of people at the same time
    TV, newspapers, radio, magazines, films, books,
    the internet, etc.
  • Simple definition it is how we communicate in
    the 21st century!

  • Your first test is on Tuesday February 11th
    This week and next week will be introduction to
    media vocabulary.
  • Your will be learning how to write a letter of
    complaint about offensive advertisements.

There will be a lot of READING, WRITING, SPEAKING
AND LISTENING!
