Battle of Saratoga
  • The British made two attempts to break through
    American defenses, but failed.
  • The British had no choice but to surrender witch
    they did on October 13 1777.
  • The American independence was assured.

Battle of Bunker Hill
  • General Gage had no choice to attack the
    Americans.
  • The Americans had no choice but to with draw.
  • The battle shocked the British who were
    expecting an easy victory.

  • The battle of Valley Forge lasted one year only
    1777 to 1778.

Americans Attack of Canada
  • Congress thought by securing Americans north
    flank they would also limit the British melding
    with native Americans.
  • The Americans won the battle but the British had
    delayed the Americans for about 50 days.
  • George Washington decided to divided the invasion
    force between Schuyler's troops and a force lead
    by Colonel Arnold.

  • In 1776 the British set forth to subdue the
    colonies.
  • Washington was forced to retreat to New Jersey.
  • The British Advanced behind Americans lines
    undetected until they reached the settlement of
    Bedford where they opened fire.

Battle of Yorktown
  • George Washington decided to divided the invasion
    force between Schuyler's troops and a force lead
    by colonel Arnold.
  • The victory by Washington and French forces ended
    the war.
  • General Washington moved south and together with
    French ground and naval forces surrounded the
    British.

Massacre at Wyoming
  • At the end of June 1778 a group of 900 Tories and
    native Americans struck the Wyoming valley of
    Pennsylvania.
  • A small force of militia and 60 regulars under
    the command of Colonel Zebulon Butler attacked
    the attacks and was butchered.
  • All of those not killed on the battle field were
    tortured to death.

Massacre of Jane McCrea
  • A group of native Americans arrived and took Mrs.
    McNeill.
  • McNeill was set free naked but unharmed but Jane
    McCrea killed and scalped.
  • Burgoyne was advancing slowly south before him
    his native Americans scouts were spreading havoc.
