  • HORNED AND POLLED (NO HORNS)
  • Only 2 horn genes determine if a cow will be
    horned or polled.
  • The polled gene (P) is dominant over the horned
    gene (h).
  • Any animal with a polled gene (P) will be polled.
  • Only animals with 2 horned genes (hh) genes will
    be horned.
  • POSSIBLE COMBINATIONS
  • RED AND BLACK COAT COLORS
  • Only 2 color genes determine if a cow will be red
    or black.
  • The black gene (B) is dominant over the red gene
    (r).
  • Any animal with a black gene (B) will be black.
  • Only animals with 2 red genes (rr) genes will be
    red.
  • POSSIBLE COMBINATIONS
