Tryout Dates
  • Feb. 27th- March 1st
  • Tryouts will be held in the aux.gym at LHS from
    400-630, Monday-Thursday.
  • Actual tryouts on Thursday will run late into the
    evening. The girls will need to remain at
    try-outs until dismissed by the coach.

Tryout Procedures
  • Tryouts are closed sessions
  • Students are not allowed to tryout with finger
    nails over GHSA regulation or artificial nails.
  • Student are not allowed to wear jewelry of any
    kind- rings, earrings, nose-rings, bracelets,
    anklets, or belly. I should not have to remind
    them.
  • No cell phones allowed in the gym- all personal
    items should remain in the locker room.
  • Students should stay on task at all times and
    remember that the whole week is a tryout.

Eligibility
  • Freshmen Sideline Cheerleading- 9th graders only
  • JV Sideline/Competition Cheerleading- 9th and
    10th graders
  • Varsity Competition 9th- 12th graders according
    to skills
  • Varsity Sideline 11th and 12 graders only

Requirements for Freshmen Varsity Sideline
Cheerleading
  • Cheer/Chant
  • Dance
  • Jumps (toe-touch and one of your choice)?
  • Tumbling
  • Fr. back handspring
  • V.- back handspring (minimum)

Requirements for J.V. Sideline/Competition
  • Cheer/Chant
  • Dance
  • Jumps Toe touch and ft. hurdler
  • Tumbling Standing- tuck back handspring tuck
    Running- round-off back handspring tuck
  • Extra points can be earned for more advanced
    skills

Requirements for Varsity Competition
  • 8 min.mile
  • Cheer/Chant
  • Dance
  • Jumps (toe touch, double nine, pike)?
  • Stunting
  • Tumbling standing- triple jump to tuck and
    cartwheel tuck running- layout
  • Additional points can be earned for, fulls, two
    to fulls, cartwheel fulls, standing fulls, front
    walkover through to full, and full through to full

  • Varsity Competition/Sideline 17-19
  • Varsity Sideline 12-15

Lambert Cheerleading Expectations
  • Follow all rules stated by the LHS Cheerleading
    Constitution
  • Attend summer choreography camp.
  • Participate in all fundraisers and community
    service
  • Maintain high academic standards
  • Participate in pre-/post-game activities and
    preparations
  • Attend all games and practices
  • Comply with all-star policy

Tentative Date Obligations for Varsity Competition
  • Tryouts Feb. 27th- March 1st
  • Team meeting March 6th . Money will be due.
  • Choreography
  • Fundraisers Lil Longhorn Cheer Camps June
    11th- 14th and June 25th June 28th
  • Sharon Springs Camp Aug. 3th and 4th
  • Summer practices with Coach Ray 2-3 days per
    week times will vary.
  • After tryouts we will meet every Tues. At 430

Tentative Date Obligations for Freshmen S., JV
S./Comp. Varsity S.
  • Tryouts Feb. 27th March 1st
  • Team meetings March 7th 800 am (Varsity JV) and
    430 pm (Freshmen). Money is due at this time
    (450.)
  • Meeting times for the remainder of the year will
    be specified by the coaches after tryouts.
  • Sign painting and sideline practice during the
    summer.
  • JV practice 3 days a week w/Coach Paige

Varsity Sideline Tentative Date Obligations
  • The team will receive a schedule at the meeting
    on March 7th. Money will be due (450).
  • Team meetings will be on Tues. at 430 for the
    remainder of the year.
  • Spring Scrimmage
  • Summer practice and Spirit work
  • Juniors will participate in Jr. Longhorn Coaching
    for the 2012 season1practice a wk., games on
    Sat. Sept.-Nov., tryouts in June, c.camp in July

Approximate Cost Obligations for Fr., Varsity
Sideline
  • First Instalment 450
  • will include, food, transportation, uniform
    usage, shoes, warm-up, sweatshirt, bag, bows,
    bloomers, body liner, etc.

  • First Instalment 700
  • will include food, transportation, booster club
    dues, uniform usage, choreography camp, shoes,
    warm-up, sweatshirt, bag, practice-wear, etc.
