• How science works
• A scientific paper will prompt scientists to
  carry out experiments.
• These could be in a lab or fieldwork, testing a
  hypothesis.
• Once data has been analysed and checked for
  validity, there may be new conclusions to pass
  on.
• The experiments are written up in a scientific
  paper. It is sent to a journal, and editors will
  email it to other scientists to mark. This is
  called peer review.
• If the scientists are lucky, it will be
  published.
• At a science conference, scientists talk about
  their results face-to-face. They show posters as
  summaries and give lectures.
