    the political, economic or cultural life of
    another country or region
  • 2) Colony- A region or country that is directly
    controlled by an imperial power
  • 3) Sphere of Influence- A region where the
    imperial power has exclusive investment or
    trading privileges
  • 4) Protectorate- A country that had its own
    government but its polices are directed by the
    imperial power
  • 5)Suez Canal- Man-made waterway that linked the
    Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea
