What is RITS?

• The Record Integration Tracking System (RITS)
• Web-based application that creates and tracks
  State Assigned Student Identifiers (SASID) for
  Colorados public school students
• Originally Colorado legislation (22-7-603.5)
  required longitudinal analysis of the CSAP test.
  Tracking students over time and across district
  lines requires a SASID.

The RITS Read file submission allows users to
search for multiple SASIDs at once, instead of
one at a time through RITS Web.

Export your data from your Student Information
System (talk to your IT Department on how to do
this) If this is not possible then- Format
your data according to the RITS File Layout

(ADE). The RITS collection allows users to submit
multiple student records for updates or for SASID
assignment at once.

Case Management

• Once in case management usually a one day turn
  around however during the busy time could be
  five days or more. State is experiencing budget
  cuts also so we in turn are short staffed.
• Please know that we are doing all that we can
  to ensure your SASID(s) is returned to you as
  quickly and accurately as possible.

Data Standardization

• LASID 14 characters or less
• Use birth certificate information
• Watch out for dates on foreign certificates
• Use full legal names
• Avoid nicknames
• Acceptable punctuation - Dash, space and accent
  mark
• Be careful of data entry typos
