12Principle of Interpretation
- It is the goal of the pastor in preaching Gods
Word to discern the one intended meaning of the
author and convey that meaning to the audience.
I am not at liberty to manipulate the text the
something that is more culturally appealing. If
the Word of God is found offensive then take it
up with God- I am only the messenger.

approaching.

person any more than Christ submitting to the
will of the Father lessoned him.

we can argue that the husband in a position of

75APPLICATION
- 1. The modern world system has little to teach
on how to have a healthy marriage. The societal
obsession with individual rights and equality has
diminished the concept of sacrifice and
community. There are a lot of people who have
demanded and gotten their rights as they perceive
them and find themselves lonely because they
refuse to cater to anyone.
76APPLICATION
- 2. God established marriage as between a man and
woman since the day of creation. This passage
affirms that relationship and provides principles
for strengthening that relationship
77APPLICATION
- 3. Equality does not equal identity. Male and
female have equal access into the presence of God
but we remain male and female- husband and wife.
In that context God address how we are to relate
to each other- equal but not the same.
78Alan Redpath
- "There is nothingno circumstance, no trouble, no
testingthat can ever touch me until, first of
all, it has gone past God and past Christ right
through to me. If it has come that far, it has
come with a great purpose, which I may not
understand at the moment.
79Alan Redpath
- But as I refuse to become panicky, as I lift up
my eyes to him and accept it as coming from the
throne of God for some great purpose of blessing
to my own heart, no sorrow will ever disturb me,
no trial will ever disarm me, no circumstance
will cause me to fret, for I will rest in the joy
of what my Lord is. That is the rest of victory."
