  • Are data collections a job for the school
    administrator, or is it the whole schools
    responsibility?
  • Are standard reports or exports produced for
    headteachers and governors for meetings and if
    they dontwhat is it that decisions are being
    based on?
  • Is there anything the software isnt doing just
    now which it could do to support the school?
  • What cant it tell you just now that it should be
    able to?
  • Are school improvement partners challenging the
    school to monitor the progress of specific groups
    - is the software allowing you to do this?

Food for thought
  • Are there still data silos within school (the
    SENCO has the list of SEN children its not on
    Wauton Samuel)
  • Are teachers aware of the importance of keeping
    the datasets up to date when they receive new
    information do they know the effect it has on
    the school if they dont?
  • Are there separate systems being used for
    functions within the school (e.g. monitoring
    bullying) that could be done within the software
  • If the LA tries to make you use a piece of
    software that means entering data again or
    separating it from your MIS what can you say?
