  • Attendance and Tardiness
  • School Hours 730 230

  • Your scholar will be counted tardy
  • if he or she
  • arrives in the classroom after 730.
  • Regular attendance is
  • essential for success!

  • Independence
  • We are fostering independence in your scholar.
  • Please leave your scholar at the front
  • door of the school.
  • Your scholar will know his or her way to the
  • to the gym, where to line up and they are
    capable of being
  • responsible for their things.

  • Daily Folders
  • Please check for notes, papers,
  • and work every day.
  • The folder needs to be emptied every day.
  • Please check and initial
  • behavior chart every day.

Depth and Complexity
  • Your child is a SCHOLAR!!!
  • Your scholar will develop a deeper, more complex,
    and extensive understanding of subject matter
    with the help of depth and complexity. This type
    of learning will challenge all scholars.

  • Homework
  • Beginning September 2nd,
  • all Kindergarten Teachers will
  • send home a monthly
  • kindergarten homework calendar.
  • Each week there will be
  • five activities for you
  • to choose from. You must choose
  • at least three activities each
  • week for you and your scholar
  • to do as homework.
  • Please initial the activities
  • that you do each week.
  • At the end of the month,

MyWyFi
  • All Wylie ISD students (K-12) will be allowed to
    bring their own internet enabled devices to
    school. This includes laptops, netbooks,
    smartphones, iPod Touches and any other device
    that meets minimum system requirements.
  • The teacher will notify students and parents
    when students are to bring their device to
    school.
  • If you follow the MyWyFi link at
    www.wylieisd.net, you will find additional
    information on the MyWyFi program, device
    registration forms and some answers to frequently
    asked questions.

  • Dismissal
  • A written note is required
  • if your scholar is going home
  • in a different manner
  • than usual.
  • In an emergency, please
  • notify the office before
  • 200pm that day of the change.
  • Unless told differently by
  • parent or guardian, your
  • scholars teacher will follow usual
  • going home procedures.

Dismissal Procedure
  • For your scholars safety,
  • we have changed the
  • way we will run dismissal.
  • You will be given a
  • detailed letter explaining
  • how this new process will
  • work.
  • PLEASE be patient! This will
  • take a few weeks for it to run
  • smoothly.

  • Extra Change of Clothes
  • Please pack an extra seasonal change of clothes
    in a labeled Ziploc bag for emergencies.

  • Breakfast
  • Breakfast is served at
  • 700 am. Service will stop at
  • 720 am. The cost is 1.25.

  • Lunch
  • Lunch cost 2.00 includes milk
  • Please prepay for your scholars lunch on the
  • Wylie ISD website.
  • Lunches may also be paid for by cash or check.
    Please
  • send all lunch payments in a sealed, labeled
    envelope with
  • your scholars name, teachers name, and ID.
  • The cafeteria is no longer selling ice cream or
    snacks.
  • Parents are always welcome to
  • eat with their scholar!

  • Medication
  • The nurse will administer any and all medication
    to children no exceptions!
  • Original bottle with the prescription affixed to
    it and directions clearly marked.

  • Sick Scholars
  • Your scholar must stay home for
  • at least 24 hours if they have had a fever.
  • If your scholar has been out sick, please
  • provide a note stating they were ill, especially
    if
  • they went to the doctor.
  • If a scholar is needing to miss PE or Recess,
  • you must provide a note from a doctor
  • stating the reason.

  • Money in Envelopes
  • Always send money
  • in a sealed, labeled envelope.
  • Include your scholars name,
  • amount included, purpose,
  • and ID number when appropriate.

  • Down Time
  • We will have down time
  • that will last approximately 30 minutes during
    the
  • 1st Six Weeks.
  • Please send a labeled beach towel or small
    blanket that
  • will fit inside your scholars cubbie. Please do
    not send pillows,
  • Sleeping bags or stuffed animals.

  • Dress for the Weather
  • We will have outside recess everyday weather
    permitting.
  • We go outside if the temperature is above 40
    degrees and below 100 degrees.
  • Please dress your scholar accordingly.
  • Please label all items of clothing with a
    permanent marker including mittens, scarves,
    jackets and hats.

  • Safety
  • Your scholar needs to know
  • his/her full name, parents name,
  • address, phone number and
  • how they are getting home.
  • Please practice this each
  • day. This information
  • is vital to their safety
  • on and off campus.

  • Toys
  • Toys of any kind
  • are not permitted at school
  • unless requested by teacher.
  • This includes electronic games
  • for after school.

  • Birthdays
  • We happily celebrate and
  • acknowledge birthdays.
  • Due to food allergies, food and/or drinks of any
    kind are strongly discouraged. If you choose to
    provide a snack, please notify the teacher
    beforehand so she can have it approved by
    administration.

  • Report Cards
  • Report cards are sent
  • home every six weeks.
  • You will receive one
  • at the end of the 1st six weeks.
  • Parent Teacher Conferences
  • Parent Teacher Conferences are held once in the
    fall and again (if necessary) in the spring.
  • They may also be held on an as needed basis.

  • Volunteering
  • We love parent helpers!
  • We will send notes letting
  • you know when help will be needed.
  • All parents who help at
  • school or who attend
  • field trips
  • MUST complete a
  • criminal background check.
  • This form is
  • available in the office.
  • You will also need to sign a
  • Confidentiality Agreement.

  • Discipline
  • Any discipline issues will be addressed on the
    Behavior Chart located in the daily folder.
  • Please review this with your scholar every day.
  • For severe behavior issues, the office staff will
    become involved.

Parent Access
  • Parent Access is a very important tool that you
    will need. It allows you to view your scholars
    grades online, fill out all mandatory district
    paperwork and receive updates from your scholars
    campus. You will need a Login and Password. (But
    dont worry, we have it for you ?!)

  • Join PTA!
  • PTA is an active and important
  • part of Tibbals Elementary.
  • Join today for only 8.50!

Tears, Tissues and Tea
  • PTA is hosting a very special breakfast for
  • Kindergarten Parents.
  • We will have coffee, donuts and a tissue
  • or 2 for you after you drop off
  • your little one.
  • The breakfast will be in the library at
  • 730 a.m.
