What is the CIHC?
  • Since 2006, the CIHC has operated as a Health
    Canada Contribution Agreement.
  • The CIHCs goal is to be an innovative,
    interactive, and permanent hub for
    interprofessional activity.
  • The CIHC works with education and health policy
    makers as well as practitioners, students and
    researchers to build a more patient-centred
    approach to healthcare delivery.
  • The CIHC is made up of health organizations,
    health educators, researchers, students and
    health providers primarily from Canada, but also
    all over the world
  • .

Why is the CIHC Important to Canadian Healthcare?
  • Evidence shows that interprofessional education
    and collaborative patient-centred practice can
    positively impact not only the health system but
    the patient experience as well.
  • The CIHC has identified interprofessional
    education and collaborative patient-centred
    practice as an important strategy for
    strengthening the health system worldwide.
  • The CIHC strives to transform healthcare and
    improve patient outcomes.

Looking to the Future
  • The CIHC is in its final year under the Health
    Canada Contribution Agreement, which ends on
    March 31, 2012.
  • The CIHC will incorporate as a not for profit
    society by the fall of 2011 and will continue to
    support interprofessional education and
    collaborative patient centred practice beyond the
    end of the Contribution Agreement.
