- In 2004 Eastside Story became a part of APD
falling under Neighborhood Based Policing - The program became an opportunity for the
department to provide services to youth and to
build proactive and healthy relationships with
the community

live in and attend East Austin and surrounding
elementary and middle schools

- PARENT REQUIREMENT
- 4 hours of volunteer time per month (on site,
snacks, supplies, community events) - Attend one parent meeting per month
- Submit student grade reports for student academic

- PARENT INFORMAITON AND REFERRAL

- First Come First Served
- Must attend school in service area
- Limited to availability of class space and van
space - Pre-registration for current participants
- Open enrollment to the public
- A waiting list is maintained
16After School Program
- Hours are from 245pm 545pm Monday thru Friday
- We have 9 after school Program Sites in Austin
and Manor ISD - We serve 350 students
- Children are assisted with homework completion
the first hour (or as long as needed) - Children use the remainder of the program for fun
enrichment activities - Children get a daily snack and drink

- We normally have close to 250 children from ages
5-13 - The schedule includes both educational and
recreational activities - Students attend educational field trips
- Students are fed breakfast and lunch through AISD
feeding program - Students receive a daily snack and drink
