Generic First (effective January 1, 2008)
  • If the prescription is written by a provider and
    has a generic equivalent, the prescription will
    be filled with the generic drug, the participant
    is responsible for the co-payment
  • The patient is required to pay the generic
    co-payment plus the difference in cost between
    the generic and brand name drug, when the brand
    name is chosen and the generic is available
