Overall Objective
- To develop and test a transferable European
Methodology and associated tools which will
enable the regional actors to - Assess the effectiveness of their regional
research and innovation policies within European
framework. -
- Benchmark and recommend policies for increasing
their regional performance in terms of
sustainable development.

Goals
- To assess the impact of the regional innovation
strategies (both co-funded and not co-funded by
the EC) in the participating regions. - Introduce a method for systematic review of the
regional research and innovation policies. - To elaborate common qualitative and quantitative
indicators for regional innovation policy impact
assessment and benchmarking. - Share experiences and knowledge, making these
experiences accessible for other regions - Build up a framework for regions in which they
can develop and test methodologies and tools in
transnational partnership project aiming at the
assessment of the impact of their innovation
policies and allowing benchmarking of these
processes - Policy recommendations for increasing the
efficiency and the impact of the regional
innovation policies. - Awareness and Dissemination and Training.

experiences on methodologies, tools and
indicators for regional policy impact assessment
at regional and Community level. - 1.4 Establishment of a set of common indicators
for regional innovation policy impact assessment
and benchmarking. - 1.5 Development of a European methodology for
regional innovation policy impact assessment and

a field analysis. - 2.3 Comparative analysis of the impact of the
research and innovation policy during the RIS
analysis phase and the current situation. - 2.4 Evaluation of the impact, which the
regional research and innovation policy framework
is having on the regional innovation system /
economy of the participating regions.
