Project Outline

• To develop stereoselective synthesis of
  benzofuran-derived
• scaffolds (e.g. bicyclic derivatives).
• To develop synthesis of benzofuran-derived
  tricyclic derivatives having asymmetric diversity
  sites.
• To explore asymmetric diversity-oriented
  reactions in solution.
• To develop solid phase synthesis of
  benzofuran-derived tricyclic derivatives from the
  bicyclic scaffold.
• To explore asymmetric diversity-oriented
  reactions on solid phase.
• To synthesize modest size library (50-100
  compounds).
• To test these compounds as chemical probes in
  understanding protein functions (I.e. as
  inhibitors protein translation synthesis,
  protein-protein interactions etc).
