- - What the gifted and talented program.
- - No laws to protect program like there is for
Special Education. - - States spend little to no money on program
- - Parents say that gifted and talented program
should be treated similarly to special education
programs. Program has similar benefits.
4Art and Music Programs
- Benefits of art and music in schools.
- Elementary and high school level programs are
being cut - Parents are having to look outside of school for
programs.
5Athletic Programs
One of the first things to cut Benefits of the
athletic program. Solution to cuts is a pay-to
play method. Problems with the solution.
6Vocational Programs
- Develops students with skills necessary to enter
the work force. - Skills in automotive repair, electrical,
woodworking, healthcare, and etc. - Schools look at vocational programs as
dispensable. -

- Increasing class sizes. Less teacher-student one
on one. - Loss of library services in schools.
- Cuts in staff Counselors, janitors, and office
staff. -

- Cutting buses for high school students.
- No transportation for outside of classroom
experiences.

National Conference of State Legislatures
(NCSL) reported that the majority of the states
will be doing some form of budget cuts.

- Getting involved in school board
- Pass bonds that help keep cuts to a minimum
