User Needs Survey outcome (1)
Introduction
  • General conclusions
  • Most drivers change routes everyday
  • Drivers dont randomly choose the rest area they
    stop at.
  • Communications between the driver and his company
are mostly made through mobile phones and are
mainly to communicate the trucks location.

Arc Atlantique Freight Portal
  • Taking into account the outcome of the survey,
Arc Atlantique partners and regional authorities
    have decided to
  • Strengthen their existing offer on VMS, internet
and 107.7 radio (for example information on free
    parking spaces)
  • Implement Internet booths at rest areas where
drivers can find dedicated information through a
    freight portal.

Objectives of the Freight Portal
  • Match requirements according to survey results
    providing dedicated information to
  • regular French or foreign drivers of the Arc
    Atlantique Corridor.
  • French or foreign drivers that are not familiar
with Arc Atlantique network and destinations they
    can reach(harbours, industrial parks, logistic
    platforms)
  • Take benefit of existing (scattered) information
sources over Internet, from both Arc Atlantique
    partners, Ports and local authorities
  • Create a tool that is easy to manage despite the
large number of services and actors involved
  • Create a tool that is easy to use for people that
