Various accessories to go with any valve and
actuators for any automation job
XSO are three or four way solenoid valves. They
are housed in anodized aluminum or stainless
steel. XLS are limit switches manufactured of
die cast aluminum or 316 stainless steel. They
are available in a variety of configurations
including explosion proof models. XPO are
positioners manufactured of cast aluminum. They
can be specified as pneumatic and
electro pneumatic. Feed back units, proximity
and manual switches are also available.

Various types of actuators for any automation job
RP-BA actuators are horizontal pneumatic rack and
pinion and manufactured of aluminum in 90 and
180.
BE actuators are electric actuators and
manufactured of a dry powder coated aluminum with
a plastic cap. All include a heating element to
help reduce condensation and corrosion inside the
housing.
VC actuators are pneumatic vertical canister and
manufactured of stainless steel. RP-BS actuators
are horizontal pneumatic rack and pinion and
manufactured of stainless steel.

Operation of rack and pinion actuators
For a clockwise output, apply pressure to P2.
This forces the pistons to move to the center
resulting in the linear piston travel converted
to clockwise rotation of the pinion. The air
volume between the pistons is exhausted at P1.
For a counter-clockwise output, apply pressure
to P1. This forces the pistons to move to away
from the center resulting in the linear piston
travel converted to counter- clockwise rotation
of the pinion. The air volume between the pistons
is exhausted at P2.
Double Acting operation (air to open air to
close)
For a clockwise output, then spring energy forces
the pistons to move to the center resulting in
the linear piston travel converted to clockwise
rotation of the pinion. The air volume between
the pistons is exhausted at P1, while the volume
outside the pistons is vented at P2
For a counter-clockwise output, apply pressure to
P1. This forces the pistons to move away from the
center, compressing the spring sets, and
resulting in the linear piston travel converted
to counter-clockwise rotation of the pinion. The
air volume outside each piston is exhausted at P2
Spring return operation normally closed (air to
open spring to close) or normally open (spring
to open air to close)

Bracket mounted micro switches used on canister
actuators
These bracket mounted mechanical micro switches
are mounted directly to the bracket between the
actuator and the valve. This is the most
economical means of sending a signal for open and
close indication.

Limit switches for pneumatic actuators allow
processing plants the ability to view valve
position remotely as well as at the valve.
Bradford limit switches are compact,
cost-efficient, and low profile for both local
and remote indication of valve and/or actuator
position. A wide variety of switch options are
available. They are also equipped with visual
position indicator and quick-set cams. Each limit
switch has multipoint terminal strips, dual wire
potting and captive cover bolts. The are UL and
CENEFLEC approved. They are available in NEMA 4,
4X, 7 and 9 ratings with standard NAMUR mounting

NAMUR mount solenoid valves automatically allow
the air supply in and out of pneumatic actuators.
They are typically controlled by a network
located in a central location in each plant.
Bradford solenoids feature an electro less
nickel-plated spool, easy-to-use manual override,
and a uniquely designed air pressure pop up
indicator. Each solenoid valve is field
convertible for use on either double acting (4
way) or spring return (3 way) actuators.
Available in single coil, dual coils, or 3
position configurations. NEMA 7 versions, lighted
DIN connectors, or intrinsically safe coils are
additional options. They can be used on either
lubricated or non-lubricated air.

Bradford positioners are available in pneumatic
and electro-pneumatic with many variations and
are used to position the valve in between open
and closed in varying increments.
Bradford positioners are cam characterized and
force balanced with housings constructed of cast
aluminum NEMA 4X rated with electrostatically
applied polyester coating. Each positioner
operate on a standard 3-15 PSI signal (12 PSI
span, optional 24 PSI), pneumatic or a 4-20 mA
signal, electro-pneumatic. Pressure gauge blocks
are built into the units. A large indicator has
scaling to operate in both direct and reverse
directions. Feedback units available

Aluminum rack and pinion actuators double acting
and spring return
Bradford actuators feature bi-directional pinion
travel stops. Two stops located on the side of
the actuator allow a full 5 of valve travel
adjustment, giving a guaranteed range of
adjustment between 80 and 100 of actuator
travel. These travel stops are designed to absorb
the maximum rated torque of the actuator and the
maximum impact loading associated with
recommended stroke speed. Available Air to open /
air to close ,air to open / spring to close or
spring to open / air to close.

180 rotation, multiple position, or dribble

the preferred choice for plant automation. Made
specifically for 3-way and 4-way Bradford ball

Bradford electric actuators are designed for
longevity and efficiency all at a very
competitive price. They conform to CSA-C for
outdoor usage and are built by a ISO 9001
certified manufacturer. Conforms to CSA-C for
outdoor use built by an ISO9001 certified
manufacturer. Enclosure made of lightweight
powder coated aluminum alloy with plastic cover.
NEMA 4 and 4X waterproof and dust proof, ROHS
compliant. Extended duty cycle induction motor
H-insulation class OM-1 and OM-A Class F on OM-2
to OM-4. Built in thermal protection prevents
motor burn out. Includes position indicators on
top of unit, manual override, all units include
heater to reduce condensation.
