WG ON TOURISMTask Force on Eco Tourismled
by Hungary

• October 5 - 7 , 2004
• ECOTOURISM STUDY TOUR AND SEMINAR
• (Jósvafo, Northeast Hungary, Lake Tisza and
  Körös - Maros National Park)
• organized by
• the Hungarian Ministry of Economy and Transport,
  Directorate General for Tourism
• Hungarian Tourist Authority, EU and International
  Department
• Hungarian National Tourist Office, Product
  Development Department
• The Study Tour and Seminar were aimed at raising
  awareness and contributing to the sustainable
  development in tourism. They tackled issues like
  tourism products and eco-labels, value of
  competent human resources and necessary marketing
  strategies. Results of a survey run in CEI
  countries on the ecotourism state of affairs were
  presented.
• The members of the WG on Environment were invited
  and took active part at the Seminar with their
  presentations, thus marking the official start
  up of cooperation of the two CEI WGs.

• This year Study Tour will offer ecotourism
  experts from CEI countries a close view of two
  different ecotourism destinations in Hungary,
  including Transdanubia and the Region of Balaton,
  with the emphasis on the economic opportunities
  offered by ecotourism in rural areas.
• The Chair of the WG on Tourism, extends his
  invitation to all the members of the WG on
  Tourism and the WG on Environment to take active
  part at the event.

• The Croatian Ministry for Environment Protection
  and Physical Planning
• Invitations by Mr Zdenko Micic and Mr Robert
  Thaler, the Chairman of the WG on Tourism and the
  WG on Environment Protection, respectively, are
  extended to all the members of the WG on Tourism
  and the WG on Environment Protection i.e. to
  their appropriate national institutions to take
  active part at the Workshop.
