Title: Dalton Nuclear Institute
1Dalton Nuclear Institute
- WUN Access Grid Meeting, 7th July 2004
2Aims of the Dalton Nuclear Institute
- To secure supply of trained nuclear scientists
and engineers to the fission industry - To carry out interdisciplinary nuclear research
in the fission, fusion and medical fields,
particularly focussing on areas of commonality
enabling sharing of ideas and technology
know-how. - Bridge key skill gaps to support UK nuclear
legacy clean-up, but recognising that many of the
skills can also be valuable to keeping the
nuclear option open. - Help support the strategies of national and
regional Government, industry, regulators and
Research Councils with respect to nuclear legacy
clean-up and nuclear power. - Be recognised as an independent source of
information in nuclear policy, technology and
assessment. - Be Inclusive and work with other Universities
