EQUIPMENT DELIVERY Equipment delivery and
Reception Status
. Alcatel Space sends the kit together with the
KDN to each site. Each user site must check the
equipment received and undersign the KDN,
necessary to trigger the installation. Once
signed by the user, it assesses the
acknowledgement of the conformity and integrity
of the received equipment. The equipment is
then under the installers and the users
responsibility.

sites are using a single application provided by
the SFS platform - During the experimentation, each user site shall
- Use all the applications and at least once, that
is to say to organise at least one session for
each application - Participate to and/or organize some plenary
sessions to allow one group or site presenting
their activity to all the others sites 4
plenary sessions at least
31SpaceForScience
Usage Protocol
- Applications 3 classes of applications
- Free Session Applications which can be used
anytime - Internet Access
- Declared session Applications which requires
that the user site informs the SFS support Team
by scheduling the session via the session form
provided and filled-in - Collaborative Work
- Vision-conference
- Authorized Session Applications which requires
that the user site schedules the session and
waits for the acknowledgment of SFS support , via
the session form provided and filled-in - Push
- Mirroring
- File Streaming
- Business TV
32SpaceForScience
Usage Protocol
- How to schedule a session?

Session Form on the SFS portal - 2/ The leader fills in the Session form
- Leader name, participants names,
- Starting date/hour, ending date/hour,
- Application used
- Contents characteristics (size, type, place, )
- 3/ The leader site sends the form by e-mail to
SFS support. - 4/ SFS support must receive this mail at least 2
days before the session - 5/ SFS support completes the form (private part)
with administrative/technical information - 6/ If required, the SFS support acknowledges the
schedule of the session e-mail back to the
leader of the session
33SpaceForScience
Usage Protocol
- The session preparation
- The leader of the session organizes the session
- Contacts all the participants,
- With the help of the participants defines the
Usage scenario and the contents to be used during
the session - The leader fills the SESSION form
- Description of the Usage Scenario and of the
contents to be used during the session - The usage scenario has to be representative of a
certain usage of the application depending on the
functions used, the characteristics of the
contents, - The leader site sends the Session form to all the
participants and by e-mail to SFS support. - SFS support validates the form, acknowledges the
session if required
34SpaceForScience
Usage Protocol
- The process during and after the session
- The application has to be run from the SFS portal
- The leader manages the session Each participant
plays the expected role, according to the usage
scenario - At the end of the session
- Based on the real session performed, the leader
up-dates the SESSION Form s usage scenario, and
it sends again - The leader, with the help of the others, fills
the REPORT form - Application easy to run, to use ?
- Response time, quality of audio, video,
- Interest of the applications/functions used
during the session - Applications/functions which can be interesting
- The leader site sends the updated Session Form
and the Report form by e-mail to SFS support.- at
least 2 days after the session - SFS support completes the form with
administrative/technical information
35SpaceForScience
Usage Protocol
- At the end of the Pilot phase
- Each user site sends an EVALUATION REPORT
- Synthesis on the use of the system interesting
applications/functions, other applications/functio
ns to be provided, remarks, - Feedback on the overall technical aspects
interoperability, bit-rate, security, QoS, - Added-value and benefits of such a solution for
the institution and thematic field communication
needs and benefits-collaboration internally to
the user site and with the other partners,
cooperation schemes - Perspective of use of these means in your
activity, possible extension with potential
example of possible scenario of deployment in
your country or other countries, with potential
