4The most difficult moment of writing for me is
in moving from a scant outline of a research idea
to writing the actual paper.
The exciting part of writing is often in this
fundamental idea, but then I have to write the
introductory and other parts, and that is a pain.
5Mathematics is a highly intimate act, and that
reflects on how we 'write' it. It is a
challenge to access this cognitive intimacy.
6Research writing is different from writing
mathematics.
Mathematical language is highly coded and very
compressed not all things we 'think' in doing
math we record or explainsome is unexplainable.
