Who is affected?

• New lorry, bus and coach drivers
• Those who are driving professionally
• Existing lorry bus and coach drivers
• This includes C1 and D1 licence
  holders and Category B pre 1997
• Only need to do one CPC if you have
  C and D entitlement

Not all will need a Driver CPC.

Practical Test

• 2 parts (Modules 3 and 4)
• Module 3 - A practical driving test 1.5 hours
• includes an eco safe driving assessment
• additional 10 minutes drive (rigid vehicles)
• Module 4 - Practical off road demonstration of
  professional knowledge - 0.5 hour (Balance of
  syllabus).

Vocational Route Alternative

• National Vocational Training (NVT)
• Driver can revenue earn before completing
  Drivers CPC if
• undertaking approved National Vocational
  Training
• NVT programme can last up to 3 years
• Potential to embed DCPC within NVQ
• Only potential source of funding support
• Can drive professionally in UK without CPC
  for up to 1 year period, but
• granted only once
• Modules 2 and 4 have to be passed in that
  time
• Documentation to be issued to cover driver.
