    organization generated at workshop on healthy
    weights
  • Summer 2000 Planning group designed purpose and
    focus of the Alliance
  • November 2000 Endorsement of Alliance concept
    by over 100 participants at Communicating for
    Change workshop
  • January 2001 First meeting of Alliance
    Coordinating Group

    opportunities to enhance the capacity of Alliance
    members and stakeholders to develop and
    communicate consistent physical activity
    messages, in support of the implementation of the
    provincial physical activity strategy.

    opportunities for the identification of new tools
    and resources to support the work of the Alliance
    membership.

Action Groups Continued Healthy Eating Action
Group - is facilitating/advocating for the
implementation of a provincial Healthy Eating
Strategy, consistent with the Alliance case
document.   Networking Action Group - is planning
and implementing at least one annual opportunity
for members to meet to share resources, learn new
skills, and meet new potential partners.
