  implement Automatic Location Identification (ALI)
  technologies by October 2001 (network or handset)
  to handle the 30,000 daily 911 calls

  generation wireless technology will be based on

• The cell phone positioning technology can be used
  to estimate travel times
• The positioning technology is well suited to be
  combined with other sources of information
