3
The shoes
The time period of the ancients covers 2500 BC
-200 AD.
4
  • Most shoes where made out of wood and palm
leaves. Until 200 AD when shoes where made with
leather. The shoes made with palm leaves that
    woven together.
  • The Egyptians made sandals to help there feet
cope with the heat of the hot desert sands.

5
  • Not all people could wear shoes back in the
Ancients time period. Because of the money that
they had to pay for them, it was rare that
people that had no money could wear shoes unless
they inherited shoes from their mother or father.

6
  • Back in the Ancients time they had sandals and
    sandals are still around today.

7
  • Our time period, (Ancients) has a unique sandal
that has 2 small heels in the back and 1 in the
    front.

8
  • This shoe is made of palm leaves and they where
around from 1300 to 1500 BC and was found in
Egypt most people couldnt wear them but usually
pharos and queens would wear them .

9
  • Wooden sandals in 2,500 B.C then in 1,300 it went
to palm leaves and in 200 A.D went to shoes with
    gold.

10
  • The difference in materials from the ancients to
now is much different. Some different materials
from ancient times to today are grass, skin, fir
and leather. Since the ancient times the
machinery we use today made the production rate
    much faster.

11
  • Some funny things me and my partners found were
    some shoes look like canoes!

Gothic Tudor Renaissance Shoes
By Autumn, Minami, Marcus
14
  • The Gothic Tudor and Renaissance period took
after the Medieval times. It took place in the
    1400-1600.

15
  • The Renaissance started in Northern Italy and
spread throughout Europe. People were influenced
by Royalty and was inspired by art and
    architecture of Ancient Rome.

16
  • The materials people used to make some of the
Gothic Tudor and Renaissance are leather, wood,
velvet, sabaton, metal, silver, and lace. They
made the shoes by sewing them together and
    nailing the heel in.

17
  • People in the Renaissance had some words that we
still say today and they said clogs a lot because
they made a shoe that was something like a clog.
They also made boots a lot because they made
armor boots and regular boots and they made all
kinds of different boots and of course they
always said shoe because they made shoes.

18
  • Some people during the Renaissance were
restricted from wearing shoes because they were
not as wealthy as others. But sometimes if
someone was not wealthy they would wear smaller
shoes. But if some one was wealthy they would
    have big long shoes.

19
  • In the Renaissance there were a lot of different
types of shoes but some shoes were very unusual
like the duckbill shoe it is called the duckbill
shoe because the front of it is like a duckbill.
The leather poulaine is another unusual shoe
because it is a leather shoe but it is flat and
it looks like a squashed bug.

20
  • An example of men and women shoes from our time
of period is a leather broad-toed Tudor shoe
    English, circa 1550.

21
  • You make them by sewing them together and then
    nail the heel in.

22
  • Some of the funny and interesting things are the
higher the rank the longer the toes.
  • Hose evidently came with thin soles, because
most of the indoor portraits show men wearing
hose and no shoes at all. Outdoor portraits show
men wearing, variously, flat shoes of the
    deck-shoe/Chinese flat variety, sandals similar
to the toe sandals the Japanese wear, and
calf-high, somewhat floppy soft boots. I have
seen little indication of lace-up shoes or boots,
though that doesn't mean they don't exist.
Chopines were sometimes worn over footie hose
when one had to go outside.

23
  • Some of the shoes came from German, Dutch,
    England, and Venetian.

Shoes of the 19th century
  • by Trent, Colin, and Olyvia

47
  • Our time period came from the 19th century
(1800-1899) it began with the embroidered square
toe and ended with the leather and silk button
    boot.

48
  • The materials that they used to make shoes were
leather. They were usually put together by
    machines.

49
  • The shoes that they had that we still have are
    boots and sandals.
  • Boots then boots now

50
  • The shoes that they had where unique because most
of the lady shoes where high heels.

51
  • People of the 19th century were allowed to wear
    different shoes unlike some centuries.

52
  • Here is an example of a shoe This is a shoe
called a button boot. This boot was made in
Holland. It has buttons down the front of it.
This boot also has some black leather on the top
and some on the bottom. It has cloths in the
    middle.

53
  • In the early 19th century if you were a women you
would probably wear shoes with a square toe. If
you were a women in the middle 19th century you
would wear ankle boots (boots that come up to
your ankles) in the late 19th century women would
    wear button boots.

54
  • Some interesting things we saw about our time
period are some of the shoes were made by
machines, some women's shoes were made by sewing
