Webpub Quick Reference Guide for Authors
Note Uncheck Open link in a new window unless
you need the linked page to appear in a new
window.
Recommended Browsers
Upload Files Images
Tabbed Browsers are recommended. Firefox 3 and
Internet Explorer 7 are examples of tabbed
browsers.
  1. Click on Files Images to display the Files
    Images window. Before you can upload files or
    images, you need to select the folder where it
    will be stored.
  2. Locate or create the required folder.
  3. Click on the Files tab to display the files
    contained in the selected folder.

Users Rights
  1. Select a page and click on the Behaviour tab in
    the Edit Page pane. This will display the
    Behaviour fields.

User Group Rights
Administrators Add, update and delete Publishers and Authors. Add, update and delete folders, files, pages etc. Publish pages.
Publishers Add, update and delete folders, files, pages etc. Publish pages.
Authors Add, update and delete folders, files, pages etc.
  1. Click on the Upload tab.
  1. Click on the Browse button and select the
    required file. The file will now be displayed in
    the Upload pane. You can select multiple files.
  1. Click on the relevant check box and/or enter data
    where required.
  2. Save to draft.
  1. Click on Upload Files Listed Below to complete
    the upload process.
  2. Click on the Files tab to display the uploaded
    files

Login to Webpub CMS
View Site Reports
  1. On the Browser, at the end of your respective
    areas URL, key in admin click go.
  2. Login to Webpub CMS using Uni ID and HORUS
    password.
  1. Click on the Site Reports tool to display the
    Reports pane.

Add Hyperlinks
  1. Select the text that will become the hyperlink
  1. Click on the Insert/edit link tool. This
    will display the link fields at the right of the
    Edit Page pane.

Locate a Page to Edit
There are 2 ways to locate a page to edit1.
Navigate through the index, select the page and
edit. OR 2. Click on Published Site link,
locate the page click on the Edit this
page link located at the bottom of the page.
  1. Select one of the options for Link to. See table
    below for description.
  1. Click on Insert link to insert the link on the
    page.

Create a Page
  1. Locate the parent page in the Site Content and
    Structure pane.

Link to Option Action
Another Page Type in the address of the website that you want to link to.
Anchor on this page Type in the anchor that you want to link to.
Email address Type in the email address that you want to link to.
Download a file Click on the drop arrow to display a simplified representation of your file and image library, Locate and click on the file you want to link to.
  1. From the drop down list select the report you
    want to view. A complete list of reports from the
    category selected will be displayed.
  2. Click on the document link to open the document
    in the Edit Page pane.
  1. Click on the Create button at the top of the
    pane.
  2. Select a page from the drop down list and click
    on Go. A New Page will appear beneath the
    parent page.
  1. To enter meta-data, click on the Meta-data
    sub-tab and enter the required data in the
    meta-tag fields.
  2. Save to draft or save and publish to send live.

Webpub Quick Reference Guide for Authors
Authors can check if the pages that they have
submitted for publishing have been published by
accessing the Site Report pane and selecting
Unpublished Report from the drop down list.
Reorder Pages in Index
  1. Click on the Allow drag drop reordering check
    box in the Site Content and Structure pane.
    Although not a lot changes on the screen, by
    clicking this tool, you have enabled the
    reorganise functionality that is, you can not
    move pages (even inadvertently) prior to
    activating the Reorganise tool.

The revision marks indicate the action taken on
the text, and include
  1. At the top of the History pane click on the
    Compare mode (click 2 below) check box.
  2. Click on the Show unpublished versions check box.
    A complete list of versions for the selected page
    will be displayed.

Revision Mark Example Description
Strike through This text has been deleted in the newer version.
Underline This text has been added to the newer version.
Green highlight This text has been added to the newer version
Red highlight This text has been deleted in the newer version.
  1. Locate and move the mouse pointer over the page
    that you want to move.
  2. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the page
    over the new parent page, or into a new position
    beneath the same parent page. A thick blue line
    will indicate either the page position in the
    hierarchy, or the parent page onto which you are
    dropping the page. If you want the page to be at
    the first level in the website, you need to drag
    it onto the Site Content icon.
  3. Release the mouse button to complete the move.
    The page will now adopt the green colour of a
    changed page.

You are now able to select any two pages and
compare the changes. Note that published
versions are displayed in black text and
unpublished versions are displayed in grey text.

To-Do Lists
  1. Locate the required page.
  2. Click on the To-do tab. This section is available
    for users to enter any relevant data pertaining
    to the page that needs attention.
  1. Save changes to draft.

Note Images can be reordered via the File
Images window.
View Compare Page Versions
  1. To compare versions, click on the two versions of
    the page that you want to compare. If changes
    exist between the two versions, they will be
    displayed in the Edit Page pane on the right hand
    side.
  1. Click on the Page Version History tool to display
    the History pane.
