5 DOI BRAC MILCON Projects
- DOI is currently managing two major BRAC projects
with construction and fit-out costs of over 371M - Von Braun III (VB III), on Redstone Arsenal AL
- Construction contract for 221.2M awarded in
December 2007 - A 839,873 SF facility to house 2,649 personnel
- First phase will allow occupancy of 1,000
personnel in summer of 2010 - Second phase for 1,649 personnel in summer of
2011 - MDA Headquarters Command Center (HQCC) on Ft
Belvoir VA - An estimated 30.6M construction project to be
awarded in July 2008 - A 99,000 SF facility for 292 personnel
- Occupancy in summer of 2010

7DOI Field Activity Operations
- DOI provides Field Activity operations for each
major geographic area supported - National Capital Region Field Activity - FOB2,
Suffolk, Sequoia Plaza - Dahlgren Field Activity - Building 1705 and
temporary trailers - Huntsville Field Activity
- On Redstone Arsenal - Von Braun II, Buildings
5201, 4505, and 7649 - In Huntsville - 106 Wynn Drive and 5000 Bradford
Drive
Field Activities manage day-to-day facility
operations to include customer contact centers,
supply stores, mail operations, etc.

8 National Capital Region (NCR)
- DOI manages five facilities in the NCR,
responsible for over 535,000 SF, over 2,700
spaces, in the NCR, including - FOB2 - 1192
- Sequoia Plaza - 271
- Suffolk - 1170
- Under BRAC, MDA must relocate 2,248 positions to
the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville AL by FY2011 - FOB2 must be vacated by January 2011
- Sequoia Plaza is scheduled to close in December
2009 - Suffolk Building will remain through FY2011 to
house current staff and those displaced from the
above buildings who have not moved to Huntsville

9Dalhgren VA
- Building 1705 is a 22.0M MILCON building on
Dahlgren Naval Station that was originally
designed to be a laboratory, and then a Naval
Networks Operations Center. - Prior to the buildings completion, DOI acquired
and renovated it for the Aegis BMD Program
Office - Renovation contract for 13.7M for a five month
effort - A 75,000 SF facility to house 350 personnel and
support staff - Occupied September 2007
- Commissioned October 2007

10Huntsville AL
- As of FY2008, MDA has almost 2700 spaces in
Huntsville - Von Braun II (VBII) - 979
- 106 Wynn Drive - 1190
- 5000 Bradford Drive - 300
- Remainder in the smaller buildings
- VB II houses the MDA Huntsville Senior Leadership
and the Knowledge Centers - 106 Wynn Drive currently serves as the MDA
Engineering Center - 5000 Bradford Drive serves as the Agency
Operations Center. - VB III, on completion
- Added 2,649 spaces on Redstone Arsenal
- Occupancy of 1,000 personnel in the summer of
2010 - Occupancy of remaining 1,649 is scheduled for the
summer of 2011 - With the completion of BRAC realignments, all MDA
personnel, except the 292 in the HQCC, will be
located in Huntsville.

- Property / Warehouse Ops
- - Property Book Officer responsible for
accountability of office and facility equipment
and furnishings for each region. (Note Any
IT-related issue must be routed to DOC.) - Relocation Requests
- - Each 2/3-Ltr has a Move POC who works with DOI
to facilitate new arrivals, relocations, and
departures. - Motor Pool / Shuttles
- - Daily operations may vary region to region.
- Mail Services
- - Each region has an MDA mail operation center.
- Parking Permits
- - Only required in the NCR. Obtained through the
Move POC. - Housekeeping / Maintenance
- - Services may vary region to region.
- Fitness Center
- - Facilities and hours of operation may vary
region to region. - Customer Contact Center
- Only in Huntsville, for tracking Form 80s and
help with other facility issues. - Supply Store
- - Each region has its own supply store for
general office supplies, ( pens, paper, folders,
staplers, etc.) - Non-standard supplies require a Form 80 Customer
Request.
