Today we are facing twofold problem wherein on
one side we are facing water scarcity owing the
ever-growing demand of water and to add to
problem we have neglected building sewage
treatment facilities. Today over 38,000MLD sewage
goes to nature without adequate treatment. The
conflict between farmers and industries over
water is increasing. We must treat sewage as
resource and use treated water for commercial
purposes releasing the fresh water for domestic
purposes.

Vishvaraj Infra was among the early players to
identify the gaps in the water supply sector as
well as the changing trends despite not being a
player of the same industry.
Twin approach to tackle the growing water demand
has been adopted for the city of Nagpur in
Maharashtra. We are implementing full city
continuous water supply project and Sewage
treatment plant with reuse for thermal power
plant for the city. The city is moving towards an
improved water supply system with leakage and
water loss reduction upto 25 bringing more water
in the system for the people whilst also the
treatment and reuse of 200 MLD of sewage
generated by the city will bring 200 MLD of
additional water for the city.

We need to innovate and implement sustainable
solutions to curb the water growing crisis.
This twin approach can be replicated for almost
all our cities as every city has similar problems
like water supply system marred with leakages
owing to lack of maintenance, untreated sewage,
water shortage and need of water for industrial
use that can use treated water.

The company advocates that to make PPP successful
in the water/ waste water sector, it is a must to
get on boarding of largest stake holder people
adding the fourth P to PPP. Involving people as
active participants adding the fourth P as People
with responsibility of communication to larger
masses is essential for long term success of PPP
in water sector particularly. It mitigates the
risk of private operator to a great extent from
the changing political scenario. Actually it is a
shield an insurance against any political /
beurocratic changes in 25-30 years duration.

PPP Model can be very successful if we can
integrate the fourth P People in the structure
with openness and responsibility. People impacted
by the project are the most important
stakeholders and have to be brought on-board.
They should be the first layer of communication
interface through whom the information would
percolate to the society.

VISHVARAJ IAFRASTRUCTURE LTD. has made drastic
changes in the customer interface of the water
supply system by establishing new customer care
centers, introducing call centers and 24x7 toll
free numbers for the people of Nagpur under the
Nagpur 24x7 Water supply Project. Most of the
organizations fail to integrate people and we
have added this 4th P in the Public Private
Partnership. Moreover, VISHVARAJ has made people
active participants in all our initiatives and
ensured transparency in our dealings.
