The HCM upgradeWhats in it for me?

• Thanks to the campuswide job mapping effort, new
  job titles for non-represented positions will
  automatically be available in HCM along with new
  job codes.
• No more waiting to enter multiple future-dated
  leaves! You will be able to enter all leave
  transactions at once, and HCMs pre-interface
  will manage the passing of that information to
  PPS.
• No more calls to other departments to Set
  Alternate IDs for rehires! When a department
  enters a termination action for an appointment,
  that record will be globally available for any
  receiving department to set the Alternate ID for
  themselves.
• One employee ID for each person! Instead of
  different IDs for employee and non-employee
  relationships, the new Person Model will create
  one ID that can have multiple organizational
  relationships.
• Worklists will improve your business processes
  for example, you will have a worklist for all of
  your candidates ready to be hired from the
  recruiting component of HCM.
• Easier to use! An improved user interface with
  the same look and navigation as the current
  Berkeley Financial System (BFS).
• Better tools for managing and reviewing job
  postings and applicants, along with a more
  flexible job posting process.
• Easier for our job applicants! Applicants will
  have a greatly enhanced experience, including
  more job search options, the ability to save
  their searches and complete their application
  process in over multiple sessions.

HCM Upgrade Next Steps

• The upgrade of the Human Resources Management
  System (HRMS) 8.3 to Human Capital Management
  (HCM) 9.0 will occur in the week of April 13,
  2009.
• Training forums on the HCM release will begin
  during the week of March 23.
• These will be complemented by online training,
  web documentation, user labs, and phone and email
  support.
• Schedules for the forums and user labs will be
  announced shortly on the HR website and to the
  HRMS/HCM user list, and will be posted in the UCB
  Learning Center (accessed through Blu).
