DAE Description Key Requirements

• Hire authority delegated to regions hdqtrs
• Only used to perform DAE related work specific
  disasters, emergencies, projects, or activities
  of a non-continuous nature
• Requires SF-52 and supporting documentation for
  hiring
• Individual must meet qualifications for the
  position

DAE Description Key Requirements

• Two types of DAEs
• Local Hire
• 120 day appointment
• May be renewed for additional 120 days
• Salaries set at prevailing local rates
• Reservists activated when need arises
• On FEMA personnel roles for 24 months
• Expires 9/30 of every even numbered year
• May not exceed 18 months in 24 month period
