  • 14 LEAs currently participating in PIMS Pilot for
    October data submission
  • Pilot will continue for subsequent data
    submissions, including initial Staff data
    submission
  • Expect Pilot LEAs to submit staff data in late
    October 2007

Staff Template
  • Identifies demographics of staff members
  • One record per LEA and Staff ID
  • For certificated staff, use PPID for Staff ID
  • For non-certificated staff, use SSN for Staff ID
  • Local ID may be stored in Alternate Staff ID
  • Reflects current view of Staff Members as of date
    reported to PIMS
  • Primary Location (School) recorded here
  • Actual location of each position is stored in
    Staff Assignment

Staff Snapshot Template
  • Identifies demographics of staff members at a
    point in time
  • One record per LEA, Staff ID, and Snapshot Date
  • Snapshot Dates are points in time
  • PDE sets snapshot dates to be the first day of
    the collection period
  • Same exact format as Staff Template, with the
    addition of the snapshot date

Staff Assignment Template
  • Associates Staff Members with Positions
  • One record per LEA, Location, Staff Member, and
    Assignment
  • Assignment Codes set by PDE
  • Assignment is a combination of Position and
    Timeframe
  • Use 9999 for location code for teachers not
    assigned to a particular school

  • Initial PIMS staff collection in December 2007
  • Reporting window 11/26/07 12/15/07
  • Snapshot date 11/26/07
  • Staff templates to also be collected in March
    2008 and August 2008

Highly Qualified Teachers (HQT)
  • Calculated based on detailed teacher and
    assignment data
  • Teacher certification data will be loaded into
    PIMS by PDE
  • Detail course enrollment data will be collected
    in March 2008
