Centurion Challenge 2009 100 miles in 48
hours 1600 Friday 10th July to 1600 Sunday

The challenge To leave the main doors of
Beechen Cliff at 1600 on Friday the 10th July
follow the route to the Kennet Avon Canal and
walk to Devizes. Camp over night at Devizes and
restart the walk at 0600 on the Saturday. Walk
on the tow path to the Parish Church at
Hungerford. Return to Devizes on the route just
walked and again camp over night at Devizes.
Restart at 0600 on the Sunday morning and
follow the canal tow path back to Bath and
finally back to Beechen Cliff School . . . .
. by1600 to claim to be a Centurion.

  • The Centurion Challenge has been an honourable
    tradition of Beechen Cliff School for many years.
  • Supported by Bath Interact (the youth element of
    the Rotary Club), the walk will raise money for .

  • . . . for the support of pupils who need help in
    participating in the activities on offer.

The Start From the start walk down the field to
the exit onto Greenway Lane. Turn Left. Follow
Greenway Lane and turn left into Lyncombe Hill.
At the bottom of the hill turn Right along
Claverton Street. Stay on this side of the Road
and cross Prior Park Road and Widecombe Hill
Road. Turn right onto the canal towpath once you
have crossed the canal.

The Campsite Devizes Rugby Club, The Sports
Club, London Road, DEVIZES, Wiltshire, SN10
2DL Leave the canal. Turn left and cross the
road bridge. Turn left through the trees. The
Campsite is on the rugby pitch.
