Healing A Leper 81-4

• The leper asks expresses faith that Jesus can
  heal him.
• Jesus touches him and cleanses him immediately.
• Jesus tells him to make the normal Jewish
  sacrifice for cleansing - but to keep the miracle
  secret.

Leprosy

• Hansens disease - caused by a virus
• Numbness leaves victims unaware of injuries
• Lesions subject to severe infection
• Not easily treated in antiquity, but treatable
  with drugs today
• Cause for quarantine in ancient times
• Lepers ended up shunned and isolated.

Healing A Centurions Servant 85-13

• Centurion in Capernaum asks Jesus to heal his
  servant
• Without coming to his unworthy house
• Because he recognizes the authority of Jesus
  (centurion commander of 100)
• Jesus praises his faith.
• Better than he has found in Israel
• Represents non-Jews who will enjoy heaven with
  the heroesof the Jewish faith
• Jesus heals the servant immediately.

Jesus Heals Peters Mother-in-lawMatthew 814-17

• Jesus seems to respond personally when he heals
  the fever of Peters mother-in-law.
• News spreads about his ability to heal, and
  crowds come for healing.
• This is the ultimate fulfillment of a passage in
  Isaiah 53 - a Song of the Suffering Servant.

Jesus Challenges The Crowds 818-22

• He challenges a couple of eager disciples.
• 18-21 The Son of Man has nowhere to lay his
  head.
• 22-23Let the dead bury the dead.

Jesus Stills a Storm 823-27

• Jesus sleeps while a huge storm rages on the
  lake.
• The disciples awake him.
• He rebukes their fear and orders the waters calm.
• They are amazed What kind of man is this?

Jesus Heals Demoniacs From Tombs 828-34

• Demons in two men object to the presence of
  Jesus.
• They make the men violent.
• The men live in the tombs.
• The demons dont want Jesus there before the
  time.
• Jesus agrees to let them go from the men to a
  herd of swine.
• The swine then jump of a cliff into the water.
• People are so amazed they are afraid to have
  Jesus in their area.
