Meeting Goals

• Short term infrastructure
• subsequent white paper on software architecture
  for the wireless infrastructure within Cal-IT2
• What are the layered software pieces jointly
  being worked on?
• Adoption and expansion of the current efforts on
  providing 3G interoperability with 802.11
  solution on the two campuses
• Seed project teams

Some Questions

• What are the network infrastructure, access needs
  to enable Cal-IT2 driver applications?
• What are the middleware, operation system,
  software needs for the new computing/communication
  s infrastructure?
• What are the scalability challenges? Can current
  solutions for distributed and parallel computing
  be applied when systems scale to millions of
  nodes?
• MicroGrid implications?
