Presenting ideas
  • Preliminary drawings- Thumbnail sketches
  • Detailed drawings
  • -ground plan scale drawing that shows how set
    will fit into the space. It is a view from above
    the set, like the floor plan of a house.
  • Front and back elevations scale drawing of what
    the front and back of each scenery unit will look
    like. Front elevations show how piece will be
    decorated (audience view) and Back elevations
    show how piece will be constructed (backstage
    view).

  • Section View- provides a side view of the set in
    the space. Shows how the set fits into the space
    vertically
  • Perspective drawing- a 2 dimensional front view
    drawing. What whole set will look like from
    audience.
  • Final presentation
  • Color rendering- 2 dimensional painting or pastel
    of each scenic look
  • Model- a three dimensional miniature of the
    theatre space and the set. Shows all details in
    scale 3D.
