Objectives
  • This presentation will provide an overview of the
    enhanced vPC-GR Reserve Developmental Education
    Designation Board (RDEDB) application capability
    and will highlight some of the new features
    available to you. At the end of this tutorial
    you will be able to use the vPC-GR Dashboard to
  • Submit an application for in-residence
    Intermediate Developmental Education (IDE) or
    Senior Developmental Education (SDE) and inquire
    about the status of a submitted application
  • Check on the status of, to coordinate on and to
    make changes to a nomination
  • (Rater and Senior Rater only) Endorse and
    coordinate on RDEDB applications

RDEDB Information
  • Available to all eligible Reserve Major
    (selects), Majors, Lieutenant Colonel (selects),
    Lieutenant Colonels, Colonel (selects) and
    Colonels who wish to apply for in-resident
    Developmental Education (DE)
  • Allows for all nominations to go to the rater and
    the senior rater for endorsement through vPC-GR
  • Once endorsed the application is forwarded to the
    NAF/MPF/PM who will in-turn forward it to the
    ARPC Contact Center in Denver through vPC-GR

Coordinator Information
  • Raters and Senior Raters are allowed to endorse
    DE applications
  • Besides rater and senior rater levels, the RDEDB
    application must be reviewed and coordinated on
    by the NAF/MPF/PM (as applicable) by selecting
    them as an organizational role or an individual
    in vPC-GR

Air Force Portal
vPC-GR can be accessed via the Air Force
Portal. Select Career from the Life and Career
drop-down menu.

vPC-GR Online
Connect to vPC-GR by clicking the vPC-GR icon
located on the left side of your screen.

vPC-GR Landing Page
Select the Dashboard link to begin the nomination
process. Note Some screens may appear
differently when the enhancement is deployed.

Account Login
Type in your Username and Password

Action Requests
When member enters the Dashboard they will land
on the Overview tab, the default starting page
for the Dashboard. Click on the Action Requests
tab to go to the RDEDB application link.

RDEDB Link
Click on the RDEDB Link to open the RDEDB
application.

Click on this link to get started on the RDEDB
application. There are additional links with
RDEDB information on this page.

Application for DE
When applicants click on the RDEDB Application
link they will need to fill out all of their
personal information in Part I

Part I Application Information
Also in Part I, SDE applicants will need to rack
and stack all courses. Harvard and Inter-American
Defense College are optional. However, if members
select Harvard or Inter-American Defense College
they will also need to rack and stack all the
other courses.

Inter-American Defense College Pop-Up
If Inter-American Defense College is selected as
your SDE choice, a message like this will appear
with instructions.

If Harvard is selected as your SDE choice, a
message like this will appear with instructions.

Missing or Duplicate Information Pop-Up
When the member submits an application that is
missing information or has duplicate entries, the
member will receive a message similar to this.
Then members will click on OK and this will send
them back to the application page

Complete/Correct All Missing Information
Once you are back to the application page look
for items that are in RED. These are either
missing or duplicate information. Please make the
necessary corrections.

missing information or attachments look for the
items that are in RED in the application and make
the necessary changes/additions

IDE Courses
All IDE applicants will also need to rack and
stack all IDE courses. The only optional IDE
courses are the AF Legislative Fellowship and the
part-time National Defense Intelligence College.
However, if applicants select the AF Legislative
Fellowship, they will need to rack and stack all
the other courses. The only stand alone option
for IDE is the part-time National Defense
Intelligence College.

Attachments
Please attach all supporting documentations,
photos, waiversetc. in this section.

Select Rater
Here the member will click Select Account to
search for the Rater by using the vPC-GR search
engine.

vPC-GR Search
Type in Last Name and First Name and then click
search, then choose the correct match and click
Select

Justification
For Justification use concise bullet format,
justify desired school preferences. Describe
specific or types of positions (including career
broadening) desired after graduation from DE Do
not synopsize qualifications evident in
nomination packages, but do provide new
information that supports your selection for DE
or a specific school.

Submit
Sign, date, and initial application. Then press
submit. The application will go directly to the
rater.

Rater
The rater will use the same procedures as the
applicant to log-in. Then the Rater will click
under the Dashboard and go under the sub-heading
of Worklist to find the applicants RDEDB
application.

Worklist
Click once on the applicants name under Worklist.

Open RDEDB
Click on the Open RDEDB link to open the members
application

Review Application
Review the members application in Part I

Rater - Part II
Raters will fill out Part II. Enter the length of
time they have supervised the member. Then select
Yes or No if member is an appropriate candidate
for school(s) desired. By selecting Yes, Rater
is also testifying that the member meets Air
Force fitness standards and that has NOT been
deferred for promotion or removed from a
promotion list. Select No if the member is not an
appropriate candidate. Provide any comments to
assist in the application request whether you are
approving or disapproving. Comments are optional.

Signature
In Part II, the Rater will also type in his or
her Rank, Name, Date, Duty Title, Duty Phone, the
Unit he or she is in, and then sign it.

Update Request
The Rater will enter the Senior Rater by using
the vPC-GR search engine. After Senior Rater is
selected, click on Update Request and
application will be sent to the Senior Rater for
coordination.

Senior Rater Part III
In Part III the Senior Raters will click whether
they DO or DO NOT support the officers request.
Also, if the Senior Rater is also the members
rater he or she will mark Yes. On the comments
block provide comments reflecting how the Air
Force can benefit from the Airmans attendance at
IDE or SDE and justification for recommended
schools.

Rate the Officer
Among all your officers nominated for IDE or SDE
attendance, where does this member rank? Example
2 of 10 of those nominated.
Please provide comments on future assignments
post DE (ex HQ AFRC, Joint assignment, etc).

Rate the Officer
Also in Part III the Senior Rater will type in
his or her Rank, Name, Date, Duty Title, Duty
Phone, the Unit they are in, and then sign it.
Once signed It will then automatically be sent to
the respective NAF/MPF/PM

MPF/NAF/PM
Once its submitted to the respective NAF/MPF/PM,
they will do a quality check on members
application. If corrections are required the
application will be returned to member. If there
are no corrections, identified application will
be submitted to HQ ARPC/DPAFE.

Corrections
If corrections/additions are required the
NAF/MPF/PM will send it back to the member to
make the necessary changes.

Reports
If NAF/MPF/PM wants to see the status of the
application, they can click on the Reports tab in
the Dashboard and select RDEDB from the list.

Display Report
After clicking on RDEDB, click on Run Report
You will get the following message. Open the
report or save it to your system.

Sample Report
A report will display all of the members that you
have oversight over who have applied and the
status of each application.

Submit to ARPC
NAF/MPF/PM will check application package and if
complete will submit it to HQ ARPC/DPAFE by
clicking Update Request.
Once NAF/MPF/PM sends it to HQ ARPC/DPAFE they
will get a message like this. Click OK.

HQ ARPC COORDINATION
  • Once HQ ARPC has received the application, a
    final quality review will be performed.
  • If corrections are required, the application will
    be sent back through vPC-GR (similar to
    NAF/MPF/PM)
  • Once corrections are made by member, application
    will flow to NAF/MPF/PM, who will review and
    forward to HQ ARPC

  • This has been a demonstration of the enhanced
    vPC-GR Reserve Developmental Education
    Designation Board online application capability.
