Ordering Your Choices
  • Since time-tabling is a complex process, you may
not get all the courses you want. When selecting
your electives, choose four courses and then
indicate which is your first, second, third and
fourth choice so that we can endeavour to get you
    the classes you want.

35
For Example
  • Acting 11 1st choice
  • French 11 2nd choice
  • Carpentry 11 3rd choice
  • Hockey Skills 11 4th choice
  • If your first choice does not fit the timetable,
your second choice will be entered as the next
    class and so on.

36
Your Choices Are Important!
  • The timetable is based on how many students sign
    up for classes.
  • If you dont sign up for a course and there are
too few students who do, the course will not be
    offered in the next year.
  • If you do not indicates your 1st, 2nd, 3rd 4th
choices are your timetable will be created for
    you.

37
Can I Change My Classes?
  • Once the timetable is created (June) and you are
given your initial schedule, you can change your
    classes.
  • Changing of classes is based on whether there is
room in the course and the nature of the course.
  • Any changes have to be okayed by your parent or
    guardian.

38
What Happens If I Fail A Class?
  • If you fail a required class, and you havent
been recommended by your teachers and counsellors
for summer school or Flex-Ed, you will
automatically be scheduled to repeat the class.

39
Can I Have A Spare/Study Block?
  • It is expected that all Grade 11 students select
    a minimum of 8 classes.
  • If one of your selected classes is outside of the
timetable you can have a spare in the timetable
    without a request form.
  • All other requests for spares must be done by
application form and approved by Mr.Balcombe.
