  • National Machine Accountants Association was
    founded
  • Constitutional convention held in Chicago
  • State of Illinois issues the charter December 26
  • Twenty-seven chapters join or form during the
    first year of the Association

    admission of Montreal.

  • Membership grows to 12,000
  • Full-time executive secretary retained

  • Establish the Certification in Data Processing
    (CDP) professional examination program.
