4Basic Process
- DFAS-CL FTPs a 2108 report for each claimant by
appropriation to the web site - DFAS-CL reviews and certifies the report
- Claimant reviews and certifies the report
5Display Certification Status
- Select DISPLAY REPORTS CERTIFICATION STATUS
- The Document (the Appropriation), certification
status, date of last action, and certifiers
userid(s) are displayed.
6Display Certification Status
DFAS-CL certification status is either NO ACTION
or CERTIFIED Claimants certification status is
either NO ACTION, CERTIFIED, CERTIFIED WITH
QUALIFICATIONS, or UNSIGNED

8Viewing the 2108 Document
- Click on the name of the document
- Document opens in Microsoft Word in Read-Only
Format - Footnotes are at the bottom of the report

10Certify a Document
1. Select ACT ON A DOCUMENT 2. Enter your
userid and password 3. View the document in
Microsoft Word 4. Select one of the
certification options 5. Confirm the action by
selecting SUBMIT Note DFAS-CL must certify the
documents before the claimant takes any action

- After CERTIFY WITH QUALIFICATIONS is selected,
the certifier will be prompted to enter the
qualifications in a text box

17After the 2108 is Certified
- Certified Documents (and any qualifications)
are moved to a read-only storage area during the
2108 cycle, and changes to the document are not
allowed. The documents are still available for
viewing.

- After the DFAS-CL administrator closes the FMS
2108 cycle, certified documents are moved to the
FMS 2108 Report Archive

21Points to Consider
- Claimant certifier userids are available on the
web site through FMS 2108 Help. - Userids and passwords are case-sensitive and
should be entered in lower case. - Passwords can be reset by Beth Hetman or Jenny
Burington
