  Mobilization( president organized super agency)

• Industry converts into war manufacturing
• Henry J. Kaiser responsible for mass production
  techniques in ship production
• These New and Improved ships were called Liberty
  ships

• War helped economy escape the depression
• Labor unions increased
• Military supply production created many jobs
• Wildcat Strikes-organized by workers not union
  endorsed

• Revenue Act of 1942- increased number of tax
  payers from 13 to 50 million
• war bonds- govt. savings bonds that financed the
  war
• Deficit spending- Government spending of borrowed
  money
