Impressions
(,) Mihu and (,) Stoica
  • a story of adolescence
  • ? about a boy who shows many contradictions in
his thinking, speaking and acting, things he does
    day by day.

3
  • the story describes perfectly the life of an
adolescent, beginning with his revolt upon adults
    and minor things
  • ? people applauding a singer, and the unknown
way of the ducks flying out from the lake

4
  • story not of Holden Caulfield, but the story of
every adolescent in the planet, filled with
pleasant and annoying things, which gives him
strength for the next stage of his life

5
  • Phoebe
  • ? a child who he loves thinking that she will
know what to say to him to cheer up.
  • ? comes in an image of an older sister, much
more mature when she finds out of his brothers
    acts

6
  • Holden
  • ? also showed off his child attitude, ready to
face the unknown and death in one of the chapters

7
  • (,) Chapter 19
  • Here in the Philippines
  • ? prohibited for high school students to be in
bars or to be drinking alcoholic beverages
without the consent of an older person, a
guardian or the parents but for Holdens case its
    normal
  • ? about sex lives even with our friends awkward
for us to be talking while Holden Luce are used
    to it

8
  • Holdens situation (feeling lonely, away from his
family) leads him to doing things not should be
done by his age (drinking and smoking)
  • Holden is independent from his family especially
his parents while in our country, people at ages
18 and below are still dependent to their family.

9
  • (,) Chapter 20
  • Holdens search for the ducks
  • ? represent the curiosity of the young people
and a joyful willingness to encounter the
    mysteries of the world.
  • In the Philippines
  • ? children or teenagers are taught of values
but are not really being applied
  • ? because of being too dependent on parents,
    children here forget about their
    responsibilities.

10
  • Here in the Philippines, we are really close with
our family members and we love them all equally
    like Holden visiting Phoebe
  • In our country, when teenagers get involved with
some problems, the first people that they would
ask help from is their parents but Holden
wouldnt want his parents know about him being
    kicked out from school

11
  • (,) Chapter 21
  • Phoebe and Holden are close that Phoebe always
    understands his brothers feelings.
  • The life of Holden is not very normal compared to
    a Filipino teenager.
  • ? Similar, in such a way that a teenage person
experiences lots of challenges in life which he
learns to handle or deal with as he faces each
challenge in a matured or courageous manner.

project? The telecollaborative project was fun
because we met new people of different culture
and was able to make friends with them.
  • ? What lessons did you learn? We learned how to
respect their own culture and how to deal with
    them properly.
  • ? What aspects in English communication do you
think has been improved in your
    telecollaboration? Generally, we improved our
