Openness to Foreign Investments
The Republic of Moldova is now involved in the
achievement of some major objectives related to
economic growth based on investments rate,
through noteworthy participation of the nation
capital and through attraction of foreign
resources, especially via direct investment
substantial improvement of business environment.

Legal Framework of the Republic of Moldova for
FDI
The Constitution of the Republic of Moldova
guarantees the inviolability of investments by
all physical and legal entities, including
foreigners. Current legislation is based on the
principle of nondiscrimination between foreign
and local investors. The Republic of Moldova
signed bilateral agreements on promotion and
mutual protection of investments with 30 States,
including the United States of America, France,
Italy, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Turkey,
Poland, Romania, Austria, etc. These agreements
provide additional guarantees.
Since 1992, the Republic of Moldova has been a
member of MIGA (Multilateral Investment Guarantee
Agency). This international agency can be used
whenever necessary by a foreign investor as a
guarantee against political risks, which further
contributes to the success of an investment in
Moldova.

Investment Incentives and Guarantees in the
Republic of Moldova
The law on Foreign Investment represents the
legal framework for foreign investment in the
Republic of Moldova. The Law defines foreign
investment, provides with guarantees on the
repatriation of profits, and it protects foreign
investments. The law on Foreign Investment
permits foreign investment in all sectors of the
economy. The only limits relate to state security
interests, anti-monopoly legislation, standards
of environmental protection, health of the
population, the social order, and moral norms.

About MOLDEXPO
International Exhibition Centre Moldexpo SA, a
member of International Union of Exhibition and
Fairs, is the most important structure in
organizing of exhibition manifestations in the
Republic of Moldova. IEC Moldexpo is the
leader that develops dynamically on local
exhibition market.
Moldexpo is unique Centre in the Republic
that owns the total area of 22,2 ha., including
the modern exhibition complex (4000 sq.m. of
indoor exhibiting area 5000 sq.m. of outdoor
exhibiting area), with the headquarters situated
on the river bank in Valea Morilor picturesque
park.

The competent team and the Centres location in
the luxurious zone of the Chisinau allow holding
annually more than 30 exhibitions and fairs. More
than 2000 companies from 37 countries participate
in the exhibitions organized by IEC Moldexpo SA
every year. The Centre regularly registers
annual considerable growth. Thus, in 2005 the
benefit of IEC Moldexpo increased by 23 in
comparison with 2004.

As a whole, within the frames of exhibitions and
fairs there were held more than 300
manifestations accompanying, including 66
seminars and conferences, 28 round tables and
work-shops, 37 master-class demonstrations, 143
presentations and raffles, 25 contests, the
Republican Championship of Hairdressing Art,
Decorative Make-Up, Nail Art Modelling and Body
Art, as well as Parade of Fashion, manifestations
that covered 5029 specialists.

One of the main directions of the Centres

BUSINESS AND EXHIBITION COMPLEX
A vast number of exhibitions and other activities
which are organized at the Center, on the managed
territory, impose the necessity to enlarge the
existing exhibition spaces, to build a new
exhibition multifunctional pavilion with all the
technological accessories, as well as to create a
Congress center which will be up to European
standards. Suggested activities

• Construction of Congress Center of dimension
  40mx60 m
• These buildings will be relied by glass
  galleries.

On the exterior space supposed for mentioned
buildings there will be designed a universal
restaurant (2-floor bar) for 150 places,
cocktail-party for 500 places and spaces for
offices
