• A new CEN/ISSS Workshop has been established
  which is the merger of former EBES and XML/EDI
  Workshops. The major objective of the new
  Workshop which is called eBES (e-business Board
  for European Standardization) is to create within

• OASIS, the Organization for the Advancement of

  non-profit, international consortium that creates
  interoperable industry specifications based on
  public standards such as XML and SGML. OASIS
  members include organizations and individuals who
  provide, use and specialize in implementing the
  technologies that make these standards work in
  practice.
• Object Management Group (jobber bl.a. med CORBA)
• The OMG was formed to create a component-based
  software marketplace by hastening the
  introduction of standardized object software. The
  organization's charter includes the establishment
  of industry guidelines and detailed object
  management specifications to provide a common
  framework for application development.
