How To Make A Savanna

• Humans create savannas by burning the grasslands
  and chopping down the trees in order to plant
  crops. Large animals such as elephants can turn a
  forest into a savanna by stripping the bark from
  the trees, knocking over trees, and tramping on
  tree seedlings

What IS a Savanna?

• A savanna is a hot, seasonally dry grassland with
  scattered trees. This environment is intermediate
  between a grassland and a forest. Savannas are
  located in the dry tropics and the subtropics,
  often bordering a rainforest. Savannas have an
  extended dry season and a rainy season.
