The information in the next slides are the
standards we will be using for the semester as
shown. If a change is made, you will be
notified via the Ros This presentation will be
updated as needed during the semester to keep
you informed about the standards REGULATIONS
STATE THAT ROOM INSPECTIONS ARE CONDUCTED
TO INSTILL A HIGH SENSE OF PRIDE AND TO
PROVIDE A LEARNING OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL
CADETS There are pictures to help you
understand these standards.

ROOM/UNIFORM STANDARDS
IMPORTANT CHANGES NO AUTO FAILURE FOR
GRADING SYSTEM 0 A 1 B 2 C 3
FAIL (applies to uniforms also)
--The cadet being inspected WILL GREET INSPECTOR
--Good morning INSPECTOR, C/FSG Elder, Hotel
Company (TC 2-4), First Sergeant --If no
position Squad member --Hallway will be
called to ATTENTION by highest ranking
cadet. --Most senior cadet will call
individual room to attention when being
inspected.

CLOSETS WILL BE OPEN FOR FORMAL
INSPECTIONS Next slide will cover the
standard and its purpose

Closet will be open to check for cleanliness and
general neatness. Not allowed --Clothes
that are not hanged (however, can be put in
boxes) --Piles of trash (pictures are my
closet)

OTHER ROOM STANDARDS
Quick Details --BLINDS Will be at half mast
and open during formal inspections. --LIGHT
MAIN light will be on during formal
inspections. --SINKS One hand pump of soap is
allowed on sink (just one). ---NOTE
This is the ONLY item allowed on the sink at any
time. --COFFEE POTS May not be placed on
sinks.

FRESHMAN SHOELINE LACES MUST BE TUCKED IN (not
visible)EACH SHOE MUST TOUCH EACH OTHER (Boot
is touching post)
UPPERCLASSMEN Not required to have a
shoeline. May use shoe organizers on doors or
under rack. This can be a privilege that may be
granted to the Freshmen
Shoes do not need to be shined.However, they
need to be clean

What is an ?-fold? (AFROTC cadets know this the
best)
Single fold faces head of the bed
The standards on rack are found on ANNEX D of
CTM Open end of pillow will be facing wall and
tucked shoeline will be under the cadets
head

broken/scratched/leaked room items --This applies
to UPPERCLASSMEN also --Use the blank side of the
notecard

business day. The trash will not overflow

CONCLUSION
--It will be a collective effort to keep these
standards throughout the regiment. There is a
huge responsibility on company level leadership
to make the standard is being followed. --You
need to be the expert on room standards
also. --Slides after this one will contain
updates/changes to standards as needed. A
notice will be put in the ROs

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS
Q Whats allowed DURING THE DAY? A 1.
Blinds do not need to be at half mast or open
--That is only for formal inspections
2. Main light does not need to be on
--That is only for formal inspections
3. Closets may be OPEN during the day
--However, then they can be inspected
--only REQUIRED to be open during formal
4. Sweaty/recent PTed clothes
--Must not touch any horizontal surface
--May hang on hangers/hooks attached to
closets
--no knobs, doors, or chairs.
--ONLY HANG UNTIL DRY

Q Does chain of command have to be on AA
cards A No. (CoC can change very quickly) Q Is
it still okay to have class year on nameplate?
(SO, SR) A NO, this information is already
available on the AA card Q What else about
doorcards? A UNIT A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,K,BD,
1BN, 2BN, 3BN, REGI (Follows nametape)CLASS

Q What if there is overflowing trash is under
rack? And is the recycle bin okay for
trash? A Thats a gig. Yes, thats an
appropriate container. Q My pillow sheet is
to short to be tucked in A Thats fine, make
sure open end faces wall Q Is not greeting the
inspector a gig? A YES. That will be a uniform
gig Q Is not calling the room to attention a
gig? A YES. That will be a room gig.

Q What about the window sill? What is checked?
A the highlighted areas can be checked for dust.
This includes tops of fans. The area
between window and screen (area under fans)
cannot be gigged Since it is exposed to the
elements. The fan blades also cannot be gigged.

Q What about the 18 inch portion of the rack? A
General tightness is what the inspector will
look for
Right
Wrong
Q if the bed is against the wall, does the other
side need to be inspectable? A NO. Inspectors
will only check inspection side of rack.
HOWEVER, if the rack is in the middle of the
room, it will be inspectable on both sides.

Q Is having two pillows okay? A No. One pillow
on inspection rack at all times --Store the
extra pillow Q Whats the best way to get rid
of dust? A Disinfecting wipes
