What is a 3A- Standard System?

• 3-A Sanitary Standards is a voluntary,
  not-for-profit organization that sets hygienic
  design standards for manufacturing equipment for
  FB and pharmaceutical industries. An
  Organization has three groups of volunteers
• Equipment Manufacturer (like Barnum Mechanical
  Inc.)
• Companies (FB, Pharmaceutical Product
  Manufacturers)
• Government Organizations (such as the USDA and
  FDA, which help the groups stay compliant with
  government changes.)

3-A Standard Certification Process

• These standards help Original Equipment
  Manufacturers (OEMs) like Barnum Mechanical to
  achieve sanitary design. These standards provide
  guideline for unsanitary things that should be
  avoided in order to achieve a safe sanitary
  design.
• To get a 3-A Certification, Equipment pumps,
  valves, mixing tanks, spray devices, etc. undergo
  in a Third Party Verification (TPV) to ensure it
  meets 3-A standards. These third parties conduct
  tests on equipments and check whether it meets
  sanitary requirements or not. If equipment meets
  all the standards then it allows manufacturers to
  put a 3-A stamp on their product that gives
  consumers assurance and confidence to buy that
  equipment. However, There are only sixteen 3-A
  SSI CCEs available worldwide.

• The ultimate goal of these SSI CCE's is to set a
  food safety and public health. All these
  requirements and restrictions helps manufacturers
  ensure two things
• Food meant for human consumption remains
  uncontaminated
• Equipment can be properly cleaned and dismantled
  for inspection
