Title: Memory Quilt
1Memory Quilt
2 When I was a child, my dad I rode the
Southern Crescent steam train from Greensboro to
High Point. Being a train lover like my dad, it
remains one of my most powerful memories of time
with him. We also spent time together setting up
a toy train layout that I would spend hours
playing. Of course, I had the Southern Crescent
steam train on the tracks.

3I loved riding in the car with Dad and hanging
our feet out of the windows when we came to
Greensboro.

4 When I was young I played marbles many hot,
dusty afternoons. I didnt play just for fun, I
won everyones marbles! Today I have over a
thousand marbles in a huge jar. Children love my
marble collection. Sorting and categorizing
these beautiful spheres of glass has filled many
a boring , rainy afternoon. Just dump them out,
and you can immerse yourself in the colors and
the cold smoothness. I might even play you for
some of your marbles!

5Wyatt and TylerMy husband and son are the best
part of my life. They bring me love, happiness,
comfort, joy and laughter.
6This picture reminds me of working alongside my
grandmother in her garden.
7My house!
While growing up in chilly San Francisco, I used
to read while sitting in front of the heater on
our front viewing porch. The porch was enclosed
by windows, affording a gorgeous view of the
Golden Gate Bridge. (Amy Holcombe)
8This is the Grace Moravian Church, located in Mt.
Airy, N. C., that I past each and everyday as I
traveled from home to town or to go to school.
The horse trough is a landmark near one of the
entrances of the largest open faced granite
quarry in the world.
