Need for Server Upgrade

• Interland has dropped our current Accelerator
  from their pricelist and will no longer provide
  SW upgrades
• Actions accomplished
• Selected Interland over several other hosting
  companies
• New server ordered in mid August

Website Administration

• Administration is multi-level
• MTT-S webmaster has highest level control
  access (root)
• Control usernames, passwords
• Establishes disk, bandwidth quotas, privileges
• Controls DNS, IP address allocation, domain names
• Interfaces with Interland to open trouble tickets
• Each symposium webmaster will be given
  site-specific control, including control panel
• Can create/admin users on his/her domain
• Can create/admin email accounts on his domain
• Mtt.org content providers will be given access to
  their area of the mtt.org/httpdocs tree

• When (and by whom) is web site archived?
• When are server archives moved to off-line
  (CD/DVD)?

Plans Next Period

• Finish configuration of all current mtt.org,
  rfic, rawcon, mttwireless sites
• Re-establish local access by each content owner
  and conference webmaster
• Re-create community forums on new server
  migrate forums from Yahoo
• Trade between vBulletin vs PHPBB
• Develop a fresh homepage for mtt.org
• Investigate the implementation of CMS or blogging
  capability for content creation maintenance
